Understand what stays offline

Talklation's core real-time speech recognition and translation can work without an internet connection after the required system language resources are available on a supported device. AI summaries, cloud sync, and purchase verification are separate online features, so preparing the translation languages does not make every part of the app offline.

On iPhone and iPad, Talklation uses Apple's system translation capabilities and checks that the chosen source and target languages are installed before starting. On Android, it checks the platform's on-device speech recognition and TranslationManager capabilities rather than assuming a fixed catalog.

Prepare the exact pair while connected

Open Talklation's language picker, select the source and target languages, and use the preparation action if the app reports missing resources. Wait for the phone to report the pair ready before beginning a long conversation because an incomplete system download cannot be repaired after you have already gone offline.

• Availability still depends on the device, operating-system version, installed resources, and direction.

Prove the workflow in airplane mode

Before travel, run a short test in each direction. Speak a greeting plus a name or number, confirm that recognized text and the translation appear, and play the translated speech if you plan to use audio. This checks the actual phone and pair instead of relying on a generic compatibility list.

If a language does not appear or the pair remains unavailable, update the operating system and inspect the phone's system language resources. Talklation fails closed when the platform cannot provide the required on-device chain.
